Letters from new families...

Hi Jeni -

We just want to let you know that everything is going fine with Buck.  We  named him Samson; Sam for short.  He is adjusting quite well.  Our other dog,  Zeus, is so happy about us bringing Samson home.  His tail wagged for almost a whole day.  Zeus is trying to coax Samson to play; he even drops the tennis ball right by Samson so he will play.  Samson is a sneak attacker and tease.  He starts the play and then when Zeus responds, he goes running behind our legs.  But Zeus is so gentle and very mindful of Samson's size.  He just lays by him  waiting for the next sneak attack.

You were right about Samson being a dancer and prancer, but he fits right  in with Zeus and our family.  It is so fun to watch them.  Samson is also a little lover and very social.  He comes when he is called.  It is a credit to you that he is so well mannered and social.  You did a wonderful job!

We have attached some pictures of Zeus and Samson.  Keep in touch.

Thank you again -

Doug, Christina, Katy & Becca

Good morning Jeni,

I want to thank you again for our wonderful puppy.  I don't know if all Standards have the unbelievable temperament that our does or if you just picked out the most perfect pup for us.  She amazes me every day.  Don't get me wrong, she still runs and jumps and chews like a puppy should, but most of the time she is calm and mellow.  We take her everywhere with us.  I have to show you some  photos I took this morning while we were 'flea marketing' (something the  kids and I do most Saturdays).  We were walking around for over an  hour.  Kashmir stayed in the stroller with Michaela and Benjamin. I couldn't believe how well she did!  I heard many comments from people as they passed us:  "was that a real dog?"  "did you see that dog?"  "look  at that cute little dog, it's just sitting there!"  "I've never seen a dog sit like that".  It was actually difficult to concentrate on  shopping. Everyone that passed us made a comment or just laughed.  Most of the time she sat up front with Michaela...on her butt with her back feet sticking out front.  It was priceless!  I happened to have my camera along  to hopefully get some photos of the kids on pony rides....but, no ponies today.

 Enjoy the photos.

 Thanks again, Christine

Hi. We purchased one of your females about a year  ago or so.  Lady Godiva ("Ivy") is doing GREAT and just wanted to share a current photo of her with you. You may see it by going to our web site http://www.northtrailkennel.com and clicking on our "Photo Album" page. We now have  a number of dogs, but Ivy is really special to us. Thank you. Jim Wheeler

2004 Family Letters

Just a quick note  to let you know Moose is doing great.  He settled right in and took over.  He is  one smart dog and we just love him  I have never had a  dog who has been so relaxed right from the start - complete trust.  He ran upstairs the first night  and was nervous about going back down the stairs so I picked him up and he was completely relaxed while I carried him down the stairs.  He is so much fun.  We are doing pretty good with house training.  It's been a while since we had a puppy around so I'm still getting trained too:)

We have a new  computer at home and I should have a new email address sometime this week, I  will forward my new address you as soon as I get my account set up.

Talk to you later -  Wanda

Hi, Jeni,

Just a note to say we're doing fine.  I was home from work Thursday and Friday so I've had a lot of time with Louie and he loves it.  Thursday I did go up to the office for about an hour and he went along.  He was glad to see everybody and they were all glad to see him again.  When I went to my desk, he lay down by my feet and there he stayed.  Even with people in and  out he lay there and never said a word.  He also rides in the car like a  pro.

Lynn is enjoying Louie so very much. They go out to the yard first thing in the morning and then come up to bed so we can all cuddle for a bit.  Of  course, Louie sleeps in his crate at night, but he really enjoys our bed in the morning.  He's growing so fast; however, I suspect he'll not outgrow the fun on the bed.  "The guys" also like playing together and short walks on the  leash.

The grand-dogs (Labs Ruthie and Clyde) came to meet Louie today.   He was pretty excited about it all, at least until Clyde let him know that it's  not okay to jump on a 70# chocolate lab. I'm sure Clyde will teach him other  lessons, too.  Actually, they're all doing pretty well.  So much learning to do....

The groomer that took care of our last poodle is no longer available to us, and I am really disappointed.  She loves poodles and always  makes them look wonderful.  The Animal Clinic now has 2 women who groom dogs.  I explained that we need an appointment for his FIRST TRIM so I want it to be a  good experience for him.  We're set for the 15th and I'm hopeful that they will do a good job.  It's a good thing they don't let me stay to watch.  I'll be a  'nervous Nellie' even though I'll be at work!

Jeni, you've given us a  great pup and, unless we really screw up, he's going to be a great dog and a  wonderful member of the family.  Thank you very much.

Lynn and Sandy C.

P.S.  You know that you will see Louie whenever we head your way - and I promise pictures
